Nosaka´s truly original novel is rich in comic invention and absolutely unflinching in its acceptance of life. 2.Akiyuki Nosaka was born in Tokyo in 1930 and educated at Waseda University. He has won several literary prizes. After being awarded the Naoki Prize in 1967, he fled the´festivities´and spent a year working in a coal mine and peddling trinkets in remote provinces.
